Angela (A.D. Brown) was born in Newark, New Jersey, but grew up in the Hill District of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Early on, Angela discovered that she had a passion for writing. She began writing her family’s story in her freshman year of high school, and in her senior year of high school, she became a member of the Journalism Club at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA.
Angela attended Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management; and earned a Master of Science degree in Logistics Management from her Alma Mater.
In 2001, she relocated to Sacramento, California. It was during this time, that Angela, tired of watching African American movies with ignorant stereotypes and buffoonish characters, decided to use her passion for writing to pursue a career in the film industry. Later, Angela enrolled in a screenwriting class at Consumnes River College in Sacramento, CA.
In 2004, Angela relocated to Southern California where she completed her screenplay, The Love You Save. Shortly after, Angela decided to hone her passion for writing and the film industry by enrolling in an acting for film class, as well as an acting for theatre class. Since then, Angela produced the short film version of the feature film, The Love You Save.
Additionally, In 2015, Angela released her Self-help book, 7 Deadly Sins That Poison The Soul and How To Conquer Them!
In 2020, Angela released a short play, The Wedding Prep!, for Moxie and Common Ground Theatre’s Dinner and a Zoom. Currently, Angela is working on completing her second short play, How Are You, Really? For Common Ground Theatre, which will be released in November and she has been making plans to produce the feature film version of The Love You Save.
